This rare Victorian-era wool knit bonnet is a true survivor of 19th-century life. Museum deaccession number 2003.413.1. Per the museum information, 1880s to 1900. this hooded piece was worn for warmth and modesty—and possibly mourning. Features thick black textured wool, a pointed crown, and original ribbon ties. 🧶 Circa 1880s–1900 🧶 Intricate hand-knit/crocheted texture 🧶 Museum catalog number attached 🧶 Great for collectors, reenactors, or antique winterwear lovers Some wear and light fading, consistent with age. Rich texture and form remain beautifully intact.
